Left Think Tanks: Rockridge and Center for American Progress
One of the nicest things about the Internets is that they make it easy to get top-quality progressive thought. The left is now blessed by at least two good think tanks: The Rockridge Institute, which houses George Lakoff, and former Clinton Chief of Staff John Podesta's Center for American Progress. Rockridge's web site has their recent research papers appealingly laid out in Blog form. They tend to be about forward-thinking topics like how to frame discussions about taxes and approaches for reaching swing voters. The Center for American Progress's web site is also very rich. For the right-wing liar on your Christmas list, they feature this Claim v. Fact Database.
